Contributor Admission & Validation Rules
1/ Referral Requirement
Every prospective contributor to Security.Capital must be referred by a minimum of two (2) existing contributors or validated professionals. This dual-referral process is designed to ensure that all new members are recognized for their expertise and integrity within the professional community.
2/ Moderator Validation
Once a candidate has received two referrals, their application is reviewed by a Security.Capital moderator. Moderators are empowered to validate contributors based on the following:
Confirmation of the candidate’s professional background and credentials
Assessment of the candidate’s alignment with Security.Capital’s standards for quality, relevance, and integrity
Moderators may request additional information or clarification from the candidate or their referrers as part of this process.
3/ Review Board Oversight
All admission and validation decisions are subject to review by the Security.Capital Review Board. The Review Board has the authority to validate, rescind, or overturn any contributor’s status at any time, based on the following criteria:
Experience & Relevance: The candidate’s professional experience and its relevance to the technology and security fields
Industry Reputation: The candidate’s standing and reputation within the broader industry
Value of Content Submitted: The quality, originality, and practical value of any content the candidate has submitted or proposes to submit
External Activities: Any activities, conduct, or public statements outside of Security.Capital that could reasonably be seen to bring slander, libel, or disrepute to the Security.Capital community
4/ Criteria Elevating Validation
In addition to the above, the following criteria will elevate a candidate’s validation status:
Mature LinkedIn Profile: A comprehensive and well-maintained LinkedIn profile demonstrating a consistent career trajectory and professional engagement.
Company Website Presence: Inclusion in the leadership team section of a reputable company website, indicating an ongoing concern with a strong reputation and profitability.
Substantive Online Presence: A strong and substantive online presence (5+ years) on community-based knowledge-sharing platforms such as Reddit, Quora, GitHub, Docker, or similar, demonstrating active participation and contribution to the technology and security community.
Validated Job Title Experience: Illustrated and validated job title experience as a CIO, CTO, CISO, CITO, CDO, Head of Technology, Head of Security, Director (Technology/Security), CXO (Technology/Security), or other C-Suite level role.
5/ Contributions from Senior Leaders
Contributions are particularly welcome from senior leaders at the Board, C-Suite, and CXO levels who can offer a perspective on cyber security from a business viewpoint. This includes insights into risk management, strategic decision-making, and the alignment of security initiatives with overall business objectives.
6/ Ongoing Compliance
Contributors are expected to maintain the standards that led to their admission. The Review Board may periodically review contributor status and content to ensure ongoing compliance with Security.Capital’s values and standards.
7/ Appeals and Due Process
Contributors whose status is rescinded or challenged will be notified in writing and given an opportunity to respond. The Review Board will consider all relevant information before making a final decision.
8/ Transparency
All referral & validations are published as part of each members profile, to ensure transparency and quality is maintained. This is to ensure the confidence of the information quality and reputation of all parties involved.
